Multi-channel retail
What you actually made, across every channel
Each channel tells you what it sold. None of them tells you what you made, and the one growing fastest is usually the one costing the most to serve.
“Every channel reports differently, and none of them agree.”
What the first week of the month looks like
- Shopify gives you orders. Amazon gives you a settlement file that is not a sales report.
- The wholesale portal exports XLSX with headers on row seven and a totals row at the bottom.
- You work out fees per channel, then shipping, then try to compare like with like.
- By the time it reconciles, it is the middle of the month and the answer is stale.
The files this actually involves
- Shopify order export
One row per line item, refunds mixed in
- Amazon settlement report
Tab-delimited, fees itemised by a dozen types
- Wholesale or trade portal
XLSX only, headers buried, totals row at the bottom
- Payment processor payouts
Net of fees, on a different cycle to the sales
- Cost of goods
A spreadsheet, always
The one that eats the afternoon
The Amazon settlement file. It is a payout reconciliation pretending to be a sales report, and matching it back to orders is the job nobody wants.
What Databoat does about it
Fee drag, by channel and blended
A channel at 17% in fees and one at 2.9% are not the same revenue. The pack shows both rates and what the mix did to the blended number, so growth in the expensive channel is visible rather than flattering.
Settlements reconcile to orders
Gross less fees has to equal what actually landed in the bank. That check is stated in the pack, with the residual named if there is one.
Invoiced is not collected
Wholesale is sold on terms. The pack separates what you invoiced from what you have been paid, because treating the two as one number is how a good month becomes a cash problem.

Tell us the report you rebuild
Early access opens practice by practice. Tell us the report you rebuild every month and the files behind it. If it’s close to something we already handle, we’ll ask for a sample and set you up on your real data. If not, we’ll say so plainly rather than park you on a list.
